Thrifting!Tips+Advice!

Why Hello Beauties!So I just filmed a Thrift store haul video,and it's actually still saving and junk so it'll be awhile before it's up. Anyway,I wanted to go into a little more detail about thrifting and some advice and tips for if you want to visit one.

PROS:
-It's so freakin' inexpensive!So that's definately the top con!
-A different kind of shopping experience.It's not like walking into a mall and going into a store where you see 10 of the same shirt or skirt.You see lots of variety and different choices that nobody else will be likely to have(unlike they will have 1 of the 10 shirts from Wet Seal,haha!).
-Fun!Thrifting is fune for me because besides finding cute stuff at an extremely low price,it's pretty interesting looking at the hideous stuff they have too.I'm not talking vintage,I'm talking straight up ugly!
-Relaxing(to an extent).The malls are usually crowded and whatnot but usually thrift stores aren't.So if you have an urge to spend some money but don't want to go to a noisey,packed mall then a thrift store is your place!
-Not dressing the same as everyone else.That's an obvious one!

CONS:
-ALL Goodwill stores I've been to have this weird smell.AND THEY ALL SMELL LIKE THAT!Not kidding you.BUT thats what a washing machine/dry cleaner is for.duh!
-You never know where or who exactly donated the stuff you buy.Once again that is a very tiny worry of mine just because I don't care and just wash it anyway.Even if I get something that still has the original store tag,I wash it anyway.So there! =P
-May not be as easy finding something you like as it is in the mall.I will be honest,as i always am,I don't ALWAYS find stuff in thrift stores.Actually there's been lots of times I have left empty handed.Thats just the way it is shopping anywhere though really.There's been lots of times I've left the mall empty handed too!

TIPS FOR THRIFTING:

1.)INSPECT the item before you buy!Sometimes things,especially clothes,will have small little holes or weird stains that may not be fixed/washed out.Just take a few seconds to give a complete browse and make sure it's pretty well up to your standards.I always pass on the ones that have holes or funky lookin' pit stains!
-CHECK the QUALITY of the item.This is essential for clothing.If an item looks a little "over worn"(like whoever owned it gave it some serious loving)then pass on it.There will be plenty of extremely worn out things in thrift stores so things that look really fuzzy(lil cotten ball fuzzies)or really faded,leave it!
-DECIDE if it's really worth it.Goodwill usually has a lot of basic type things like tshirts and whatnot so if you need those,then just skip them and buy those at forever21 since they are usually under $5 and very comfy.Only buy basic tshirts and stuff at the thrift stores if you REALLY want to,but about for the same price you can get them brand new at forever21!
-GO with an open mind. You may not be into vintage or "classic" peices,but you never know!You may find something you completely love that you wouldn't have otherwise found at a mall and it make spark a new trend/style for you and make you stand out!
-They do have things other than clothes and shoes.You can often find lots of cute little decorations for your room/dorm/house/whatever and nice China/glasswear also.They have lots of pictures/paintings for a good price too!

You can check out consigment shops too if you have slightly higher tastes as they usually have more designer type things,but the price will be higher than a goodwill or place like that!

Also,not only "old" people thrift shop!Lots more younger teens/adults are shopping there over the past couple years I noticed.So don't surprised if you see a classmate in there while you go!You never know thrift shops!Even celebs do it,so apparently it's not just for people who simply can't afford to shop at the mall,but for any and everyone!

ALSO,for those who still remain mall trendy,Platos Closet is another big thrift/consignment store that A LOT of teens/college students go to.They have all of the trendy brands like Abercrombie,Baby Phat,Aeropostale,American Eagle,Hollister,South Pole,Express,Forever21,etc.I love shopping there too!

Are those Leggings?They Look Like Jeans!

Hey Beauties,it's me again. Two posts in one day,whew! Well I old ya'll I loved blogging but anyway this an outfit post.

I was walking up the stairs to my class this morning and one of my classmates goes "Are those leggings?They look like jeans!".Haha,I thought it was a funny(but not really).No really,I kinda did. Ok Ok. So yes, I wore my "denim leggings" today! I LOVE them. I'm such a jeans girl, so imagine my crave when I seen a such thing as denim leggings. I got mine at Wal-Mart(Miley Cyrus&Max Azria) for just $10!They have been worn,worn,worn,worn,washed,and worn again and they are still so soft,comfy,and in good shape! What's even cuter about them? They aren't just your basic lil leggings. They have a long gold zipper on the side! Adds a touch of edge to them,if you ask me =]

Anyhow, I paired them with a pretty lavender Express sweater top since it felt pretty good out today. I didn't even need a jacket/coat! Woop! For shoes I kept it simple as I always do with a little basic pair of comfy black flats. For Jewelry I just wore silver circle dangly earrings,one of my favorite pairs!

Wet'n'Wild Color Icon Palettes=L.O.V.E

Soooo awhile ago I heard Wet'N'Wild was coming out with a new line. Actually, I believe I found out through a blog! Anyway,I wasn't too excited at first even though I did already like Wet'N'Wild. I seen pictures of the new products and instanstly fell in love! I was intringed by an inexpensive,drugstore palette that included both matte and shimmer shades because I didn't own a palette like that. I went into my local Walgreens and jumped on'em! I only bought two;"Lust" and a trio in "Sweet Candy"(which didn't show up well on my skin so i returned it for something that I loved much more!)Lust is the purple palette and Sweet Candy was light brown/light pink/shimmery cream,but since I returned that one I won't dwell on it. I exchanged Sweet Candy for "Cool as a Cucumber". Best return ever! Cool as a Cucumber is a light green/pretty mid-tone purple/hunter green!This trio is pretty shimmery,but not glittery at all.They give off a very pretty sheen! Theses lil' babies are SO pigmented. The matte shades in the Lust palette are my FAVORITE eyeshadows at the momment. Yes, seriously they are THAT good. I only had 3 matte shadows before which was two of the Revlon ones and Embark by MAC(which I LOVE for my crease). These mattes in the Lust palette are so pretty and pigmented(way better than the Revlon mattes,by the way) that I couldn't believe it! I have worn them several times,including today. To be honest, I have even tried out the shimmery(which they call "high pigmented effect" shades but the mattes are highly pigmented also). But don't worry, I will try them out eventually if I can ever give the mattes a rest. They last all day with my ELF mineral primer and they are easy to apply and blend because they are very soft and buttery feeling which I love about them also. Anyway I have some swatches so I will let your eyes do a little happy dance! Go out and pick these up quick!The Lust palette was $4.99 and Cool as a Cucumber was $2.99!
OH!The picture at the top right hand corner of this post is the look I did today using the 2 darker matte shades with the Lust Palette!

Hey Beauties!

I told myself I wasn't gonna post til Tuesday (well really it's already Tuesday since it's 12:03am)but my fingers were itching to type up a post! I know blogging has always been big, but I neglected it a few years ago on Myspace. I really loved typing out whatever I was thinking or feeling about things but just stopped for no reason. I want to start again except not on Myspace,but a real blogging site. Just a heads up, the next post is going to be a review on my Wet'n'Wild Color Icon palettes. I thought about doing a youtube video on it but since there are quite a few videos already I decided against it.

So what will be on this blog you may be wondering? Everything(seriously)! I really am into "Face of the Days"(showing what make-up you're wearing for that day,like outfit of the day videos) lately so I will take pictures and blog those. Also my outfits too sometimes because I used to make a lot of youtube videos on that but they didn't get many views =[ Anyway, Thanks for stopping by! Follow it if you want to!
